End of year post
Art class this year was a new experiance for me. I am nt a very artisitc perosn so going into this class, i didnt know what to expect. In the first few days, i was intomidated and i was scared. I am not very good at art and i was afraid that my work would not get good grades. As the year went on, i learned different techniques on how to draw and paint in better ways. This year i feel as though i progressed as an artist and i became a more creative person. I am most proud of my ink painting of the telephone booth. I have never painted anything that large or difficult. It was difficult to do all of the shadows but the ink helped the effect. Overall i enjoyed everything i created this year in class. It wa sa learning experiance for me and i will never forget it!

Time Capsule
It all began with a white cardboard box. It contained nothing and had no symbols or writing. Our mission was to create a time capsule. I will be opening my time capsule in 20 years on my 37th birthday. Inside my box is miscalenous things that I think I would want to find in 20 years. First, I wrote a letter to myself. I explained what life is like for me now and what I hope my life is like in the future. I'm not sure how realistic the future part of the letter is but hopefully my life will be like what I hope it is. I also have 30 pictures in my time capsule. They are pictures of my friends, family, and events that are important to me now. Also, my time capsule holds an assortment of coins. I do not know if coins will be used in 2034 but if they aren't, they will be worth something. I put these specific things in my time capsule for a reason. They express what my life is like now. I put in memories from all of the good times that I have had so far. I would want my future self to remember all of the good times I have had. I also put a little bit of money and coins in my box so that if anything changes in 20 years, i have a little bit of history. I also put a lot of picutres in my box so that I have a mental picutre of what my life is like now. Hopefully I will remember he people in the pictures but if not, I will be able to have a mental picutre of what they were like. I just hope my mom will remember to give it to me!

Clay Story
There is a dresser next to my bed. This dresser is plain and white with two drawers. The bottom drawer holds my bathing suits in the summer months and my scarves in the winter. The top drawer is a special drawer. It holds memories. This drawer is a special place for me to put things that are important to me. It holds items that remaind me of special people that have come in and out of my life. Everything in the small box reminds me of past and present friends, people, and family. My drawer holds pictures, jewelry, and handmade crafts that are all very special to me. A wooden boat and a jewelry box sit in the front left hand corner of the drawer. I made the boat and box with my grand pop was I was younger. After my grand pop died 3 years ago today on April 8, 2011, I decided to put the wooden crafts in my drawer to remember all of fun times that I had with my Grandpop. Resting on the other side of my drawer is a small envelope of pictures of my past and present friends. My friends have changes throughout the years. The picutres are a reminder of all of the people who have come in and out of my life. And finally, I have a box of birthday cards, jewelry, and pictures from my family that I have collected over the years. I keep these to remind myself who helped shape me into the person I am today.
Who knew that a drawer could hold so much?

Art x 3
It was very difficult for me to do the art x 3 project. I am a person who plans very far ahead and I could not do that with this project. The hardest part for me was not knowing what I was going to get. I was anxious to see what the theme of the piece would be and what would be on it. Both of the pieces that I got I enjoyed working on, but I still had a lot of road blocks. It was very hard to plan and think when you don't know what is ahead. I learned that some things can be fun to do on the fly. Even though it was very difficult, I had a lot of fun
Pop print
There were many steps involved on creating the pop print. First, I chose the item to put on the stamp. I chose the crayon because I thought that I could do many different items and designs with it. After choosing and drawing the item, I had to carve the stamp pad. I found that very difficult because once you carved into it, you could not go back. After I finished carving, it was time to stamp. Stampin was the best part because I could mix paint colors and stamp in all different ways. Printing in mass-production was interesting because I could finish three paintings in one class period. I enjoyed the mass production
Fortune Cookie
My fortune read: "you are a crispy noodle in the salad bowl of life". This quote inspired me to create a piece of art that showcased someone who was being different. It was very difficult to try to cut out the little men so that they were all the same. Also it was very difficult to make them seem faded and similar at the same time. I made the men look faded by putting tissue paper on them and the things around them. I tried to make the crispy noodle look very different by making him have his hands up and color him in.

Collecting
I collect race numbers. I have participated in 4 5k races and two mud runs. I consider finishing a race a major accomplishment. Most of my races were done win one of the teams that I play for. I keep my race numbers as a memory of my accomplishments. They all hang from my dresser in my room
